In case you missed it: Legendary Trumpeter Arturo Sandoval released new album, ‘Rhythm & Soul’

Arturo Sandoval's 'Rhythm & Soul' was released in August, 2022.

Ten-time Grammy Award winner, Emmy Award recipient and 2013 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Arturo Sandoval  is releasing a brand new album of all original material birthed during the 2020-21 Quarantine. Not one to sit idly by, the ever-creative trumpeter and composer continued to write music nearly every day during the pandemic. Once it was safe to go back into the recording studio, he was able to gather his long-time touring band together to record just some of the music written during this time.

The album explores many sides of his Latin heritage and artistic personality – hence the title, “Rhythm & Soul”. Against a backdrop of traditional Cuban Son music, Brazilian Bossa-Novas, Caribbean Calypso and many more styles, Sandoval explores both the fiery and softer sides of the trumpet, all the while showcasing his effortless mastery of the instrument and the genres.

His band consists of some of the finest musicians in the industry along and the album features a few special guests, most notably his friend and percussionist, actor Andy Garcia. The album was co-produced by Arturo Sandoval and Tony Guerrero, a fellow trumpeter who also has three original compositions featured on the recording.
