From the morning commute to our evening wind-down, radio listening is intertwined with our daily habits and routines — and we each have a unique rhythm.
That goes for the global Jazz24 community as well. We asked listeners what their favorite time of day to listen to Jazz24 is, and responses fell around the clock, during morning, noon, and night.
A quarter of the more than 200 responders preferred to listen to Jazz24 as they started their day. David from Lichfield, England said he loves Jazz24 with his morning coffee.
Meanwhile, many liked to take Jazz24 with them during their walks, or like John from Rosebud, Texas, immediately after he takes his dog out for a jaunt around the block in the morning.
At lunchtime, Dabo in Paris, France listens to Jazz24 to “recharge and relax,” while listeners like Donald said Jazz24 is an important cure for the “post-lunch lull.” Many love to listen during their workday, including Patsy from London, England, who works as a book and paper conservator.
Evening was also a popular answer. Juan in Las Palmas, Spain loves to listen before, during and after supper, and many others love to listen while they cook. Will and his preschooler in Michigan tune in as they get ready for bed and brush their teeth for the length of a song.
Several others said they tune in late, like Alvaro in Florianópolis, Brazil, who listens, quite fittingly, “around midnight.”
There was also a special type of listener whose responses couldn’t be categorized, largely because they never stopped listening.
Roberto in Galliate, Italy said he listens to Jazz24 from when he takes his morning meds until when he takes my bedtime meds. “It's one way I track taking them,” he said.
Christine said Jazz24 is the perfect companion to her workday, and the listening doesn't stop when she clocks out. She also uses it as the soundtrack to her evening bath.
Ultimately, many members of the Jazz24 audience said they listen as much as possible. And why not? As Andy from Boise, Idaho said, “Anytime is jazz time!”
